Dr. Tom C. Wang is the Director for International Cooperation at the American Association for the
Advancement of Science (AAAS), a leading general science society and publisher of the journal Science.
Dr. Wang came to AAAS from the U.S. Department of State, where he served as a science policy advisor in
the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs. Dr. Wang received his MS and PhD in chemical engineering
from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and undergraduate degrees in chemical engineering and
political science from the University of California at Berkeley
