Kaitlin Thaney comes from Digital Science where she is responsible for the group’s public facing activities and evangelism, as well as external partnerships. She comes from the open science world, most recently serving as manager of the science programs at Creative Commons. She is passionate about interoperability, works to make research more efficinet, and runs a London-based meetup called 'sameAs' that aims to bring together disparate communities around science, technology and design. She also co-organises Science Foo Camp ("Sci Foo" for short), an annual unconference thrown with O'Reilly Media and Google. Former lives include First Amendment freedom fighter, Latin scholar and cub reporter.
