VIOTTI, Eduardo

Legislate Advisor, Science, Technology and Innovation, Brazilian Senate

Eduardo Viotti has a degree in Economics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1975), MBA in Economics from the University of Brasilia (1979), MBA in Economics from the New School for Social Research (1988) and Ph.D. in Economics from the New School for Social Research (1997). He is currently associate researcher at the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) at the University of Brasilia (UNB) and legislative consultant of the Senate on matters of science and technology policy. Over the past few years, he coordinated two major research projects of the Center for Strategic Studies and Management (CSSM). The first research was on the doctors trained in Brazil in the period 1996-2008 (their training and employment situation in 2008). The second was a similar project on the Brazilian masters titles in the period 1996-2009. His main areas of research interest are the relationships between science, technology and innovation (ST & I) with development, particularly sustainable development policies CT &I; national systems of innovation and technological learning; indicators of STI and human resources for ST & I.
