HALLSCHMID, Manfred

Manfred Hallschmid's primary research area is the central nervous regulation of food intake and body weight in humans, with a particular focus on the crosstalk between nutritional and cognitive factors and the relationship between sleep and metabolism. I obtained a diploma in psychology in 1999 and a PhD in psychology/human biology in 2005. He was project leader in the Clinical Research Group ‘Selfish Brain’ headed by Achim Peters. Since 2009, has been project leader in the Collaborative Research Center ‘Plasticity and Sleep’ headed by Jan Born.
