BARBOSA CORTEZ, Luíz Augusto

Luíz Augusto Barbosa Cortez was born in Sorocaba, São Paulo, on September 5, 1957. He is a professor of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering at Unicamp. He graduated in Agricultural Engineering from Unicamp in 1980. Completed the master's degree in 1984 from Université Laval, Canada and a PhD in Agricultural Engineering in 1989 from Texas Tech University, USA. Operates in the areas of biomass energy and cooling technology. Concluded the guidance of 12 master's theses and doctoral dissertations 7. In the Graduate Program of Energy Systems Planning, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering collaborates being co-responsible for the discipline Renewable Energy Sources. Published 65 articles in journals, 150 papers in scientific and technical books 5. Received the Jabuti prize offered by the Brazilian Book Chamber and National Book Association (NLA) in the category "Exact and Technological Sciences" by the book "Introduction to Agricultural Engineering" edited by Unicamp in 1993. Was Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Center of Energy Planning from 1998 to 2002 and Head of International Relations and Institutional Unicamp.
